Monoprinting on Fabric at The Montclair Art museum
Explore monoprinting on fabrics including the new poly spun Evolon. Using simple non-toxic inks, students will print their painted imagery on and off the press. Finished pieces can be framed or wrapped and attached to a wood support. Both realistic and abstract images work equally well.

The Print Effect 2018: Small Works / Big Impact

Dorothy's work will be included in a new show entitled The Print Effect 2018: Small Works / Big Impact juried by master  printer and Bard College Professor Lothar Osterburg. Professor Osterburg is the recipient opf a Guggenheim Creative Arts Fellowship. Osterburg's work is included in many public collections including Art Institute of Chicago, Fine Art Museum Houston and the Library of Congress.

          Friday, March 29, 2019 through Saturday, March 30, 2019     10am – 4pm 2-day workshop

Expand your encaustic collagraph vocabulary using innovative plate materials and hand printing on Japanese and waterleaf papers. In this workshop participants will cut plates into geometric or organic shapes for multiple plate compositions, layer transparent color to create depth, and explore the new field of poly spun fabrics such as Evolon, learning how to use printmaking beyond traditional surfaces. Instruction will incorporate hand printing for those without a press, tips on the many tools to use, demonstrations of additive and subtractive wax applications, guidance with Akua inking, and discussion on presentation and mounting of finished pieces . There will be individual and group critiques and a large selection of plates and prints available for viewing.

VIEWPOINTS 2018 at Studio Montclair
Studio Montclair's Annual International Juried Exhibition, which received submissions of over 800 works of art, takes place from June 2 through August 16, 2018.  One of Dorothy's pieces (from the Wabi-Sabi Series) was among the 67 accepted for the 21st Annual show, VIEWPOINTS 2018.  The show takes place at Studio Montclair's new gallery in downtown Montclair, 127 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair, New Jersey.
